Getting to Daytona Beach is easier than a lot of first-time visitors expect, whether you’re flying in or making it part of a longer road trip.
If you’re flying, Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) is the closest option, just minutes from most of the beachfront area — a real advantage if you don’t want to spend your first vacation hours in a rental car. Orlando International Airport (MCO) is about an hour inland and often has more flight options and competitive fares, so it’s worth comparing both before you book, especially if you’re planning a day trip to the Orlando parks anyway.
Driving in is straightforward too. Daytona sits right off I-95, making it an easy stop for anyone road-tripping the East Coast, and a manageable drive from much of Florida and Georgia. If you’re coming from the north, plan for typical I-95 traffic near major cities, but the route itself is simple with no tricky turns once you’re close.
Once you’re here, a car isn’t strictly necessary if you’re staying near the boardwalk — restaurants, the pier, and the beach itself are all walkable from most of our studios. But if you want to explore Ponce Inlet, take a day trip to St. Augustine, or head inland to the theme parks, having a rental car makes life a lot easier.
Parking is worth planning for in advance, especially in peak season. Street parking near the boardwalk can fill up fast on weekends and holidays, so building in a few extra minutes to find a spot is a smart move during busy stretches.
However you get here — plane, car, or a bit of both — the payoff is the same: a relaxed stretch of Florida coast that’s easy to reach and even easier to enjoy once you’ve arrived.
