This is the stretch of Daytona that everyone pictures — a classic beachfront boardwalk with a fishing pier, a Ferris wheel, arcades, and enough ice cream stands to keep everyone happy. It’s an easy, no-planning-required way to spend an evening, and it’s close enough to most of our oceanfront studios that you can walk down after dinner without thinking twice.
During the day, the pier is a good spot for a stroll or a bit of fishing, and it gives you one of the better vantage points along the coast for photos looking back at the beach. Once the sun starts to dip, the whole area lights up and takes on a different energy — this is when the boardwalk is at its best, with the Ferris wheel lit against the sky and the smell of funnel cake in the air.
It’s a genuinely low-effort night out. No reservations, no real plan needed — just wander down, grab something to eat, let the kids (or you) loose in the arcade, and take a slow walk along the water afterward. Go right around sunset for the best light and the liveliest atmosphere, or earlier in the day if you’d rather have it quieter.
