Where to Eat in Daytona Beach: Local Favorites Near the Boardwalk

Ask ten people where to eat in Daytona Beach and you’ll get ten different answers, so here’s ours — built from what our guests actually recommend after their stays.

For breakfast, look for the small diners tucked a block or two back from the beach rather than the ones directly on the strip — you’ll pay less and usually get a better plate. A strong coffee and a stack of pancakes before a beach day is a Daytona tradition for a reason.

Seafood is the obvious move for dinner, and you don’t need to go far to get it fresh. Local spots along the Halifax River and near the Marina serve up grouper, shrimp, and oysters pulled from Florida waters, often with a water view thrown in for free. If you want something more casual, the fish shacks near Ponce Inlet do a great basket-and-a-beer combo that’s hard to beat after a long beach day.

The Boardwalk area is best for grazing rather than a sit-down meal — think funnel cake, soft-serve, and the kind of boardwalk food that tastes better on vacation than it would anywhere else. It’s an easy walk from most of our studios, so you can wander down in the evening without needing to drive or find parking.

If you’re staying somewhere with a kitchen — which most of our properties have — the local seafood markets are worth a stop. Buying fresh catch and cooking it back at your condo, with the balcony door open and the ocean as background noise, is one of those simple pleasures that’s hard to replicate anywhere else.

And if cooking isn’t on your vacation agenda at all, we get it. Our private chef experience brings a professional cook right to your kitchen for a night, so you can have a proper multi-course meal without leaving your stay. It’s a nice way to mark a special occasion or just take one night completely off.

Wherever you end up eating, Daytona Beach rewards a little wandering — the best meals here aren’t usually the ones with the biggest sign. Browse our properties to find a home base close to all of it.
